Liaisons for Excellence, Innovation, and Development (LEID) Council
In 2019, under the direction of Vice President Dr. Assata Zerai, the Liaisons for Excellence, Innovation, and Development (LEID) Council was formed. The council is comprised of College/School Senior Diversity Officers.
The LEID Council’s charge is to work to enhance institutional climate and excellence for faculty, postdoctoral and visiting scholars, and doctoral students at UNM. LEID contributes to the work of the UNM 2040: Opportunity Defined strategic plan and goals of the Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Institutions (HSRU).
LEID Council GOALS
- Increase National Center for Faculty Development (NCFDD) memberships and participation in the NCFDD Faculty Success Program
- Review College/School/Branch/HSC faculty hiring goals
- Main campus voting members: select 2-4 Faculty Forward Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholars
- Make progress on accomplishing the UNM 2040 Opportunity Defined Goal 3, Inclusive Excellence
- Contribute to UNM’s work as a part of the Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities
- Advance restorative justice at UNM by promoting inclusive climate among faculty
